PO receiving for serial control item

I have item set as Serial control "At Receipt"   when I receive the item, in the LOt/serial  screen it is asking me to pull serial# from the drop down.  This is not accepted -     I want to use the serial number  which my supplier has sent. basically i want to eneter any serial number I choose( dynamic).

Any help will be appreciated.
