Storage configuration for solaris zones

Hi,

I'm trying to find some information on the best practice for storage configuration in relation to zones and how best to provision the storage for same.

We hope to be build a sparc environment which will host 50 - 70 zones. The zones will, in the majority, be solaris 10, the hosts might be solaris 11, that debate is ongoing. The zones are a mixture of environments:

  • Build zones for compiling code
  • File / repository zones
  • Functional test zones - testing in house software releases

The majority of the environments will be the functional test zones. They typically use 30G of disk space and 2-3GB of memory.
