Our client wants to make changes to an existing asset by changing the cost, life of years and date of service. I suggested that they change one item at a time to ensure the depreciations are correct with each change. The client only change the life years from 20 to 18 everything else remained the same.

Below is our scenario

Method type  Calculation Basis   Depreciation Allocation  Prorate Calendar
Calculated     Cost                       Evenly                         Monthly

Fiscal Year                      Jan to Dec
Depreciation Calendar      Monthly
Cost of Asset                   1,778,258.34
Current open period         AUG-13
Date in Service                01-APR-1998
Prorate date                    01-APR-1998
Life in Years                   20
Life in Month                   216
Remaining life years        2 years and 8 months

Howdy, Stranger!
