HR Assignment API returns error

Hello;

I am using hr_assignment_api.update_emp_asg_criteria procedure in a custom integrator to mass update employee assignment records.  However returns error: PAY HR_72220_INVALID_PRIMARY_KEY for records.  I am not sure what to next to modify.
