What update method is preferable for New ODA "Bare Metal Restore" or "ODA Patch"

Hello ODA Folks,
I wonder what method would you suggest to use to get a new x3-2 2.6 ODA to 2.7 level and why?
It looks like 888888.1 talks about 2 options:
"Bare Metal Restore" and "ODA Patch"

Am I correct that Oracle suggests "ODA Patch" method over "Bare Metal Restore"? I wonder why? "Bare Metal Restore" seems to be eliminates additional SW to be located on the ODA system disks after the upgrade procedure completed.
Can you please comment?

PS Related question: In what cases would you suggest to use the "Bare Metal Restore" method as opposite to the patch?
