Siebel 8 performance on AMD versus Intel processors

Hi,

We are currently changing the hardware environment for our Siebel 8 instance and we have noticed some performance differences between AMD and Intel processors with comparitable clock rate/frequency.

On the AMD processors the performance is considerably slower than that of the Intel processors. It also seems that Siebel does not scale as well on AMD processors as it does on Intel.

Does anyone know or can explain to me why Siebel 8 may run/compile differently on these 2 processor architectures?
