PRCT-1005 PRCI-1113 errors running rconfig

Trying to run rconfig to convert to RAC. It is erroring out with PRCT-1005 and PRCI-1113 referencing an oracle home A that doesnt exist. However we are running rconfig for instance B. why is it looking for A's oracle home ?
