Rebuild Oracle RAC node

Hi,

We have 11.2.0.3 two node RAC and we need to re-install OS (Linex Redhat) on one of RAC 11.2.0.3 node and once its successfuly done we need to do the same for other node.

To minimize the downtime of the node availablity, Can we take the backup of ORACLE_HOME and GRID_HOME before the OS re-install and restore them from the backup.

Please suggest the best possible way to minimize the rebuild of the node.
