Change of Name for India Operations R12

Hi,
'A' company is taken over by ' B 'company (India operations). 'A' company is changing the name of' 'B' company. 'A' company also want to reflect the changed name  GL ; legal entity, primary ledger, etc of 'B' company. Can the name be changed for company B. OR will this lead to setting up a new primary ledger and new legal entity for B. Is there a workaround?

Please advise.
