recover primary db from backup taken to create standby

 I need to restore and recover primary database.
Previous DBA has create RMAN backup to create standby database. Since database is TB so I don't want to create backup again.

I can utilize "already taken backup which was for standby with standby control file" to restore primary database ?

control file is like stndby_ctrlf.ora in that backup set.
