Batch Delete Using Web Services

 I need to delete over 4 thousand duplicate records in CRM.  I am told I cannot do that within the CRM application.  I am told I need to create web services code to get rid of those duplicates.  I have no idea on how to do that.  Does anyone have a template available that I can use to get rid of my duplicates??
