"Partner" as a value in the picklist of Account Type

We have the values "Partner" and "Business Parther" in the picklist for the field ACCOUNT TYPE.

Some users got confused and they recommended that "Partner" be removed and stick with "Business Partner."

However, one of the managers in a business group mentioned that "Partner" is the better value between the two because we will all be implementing Partner Relationship Management (PRM) someday. This manager believes that the term has also has some implications because it should be in-sync with "Partner" account role in PRM.

If this is true, can you please enlighten us what really is the connection between the account type in CRMOD and account role in PRM? Or the same terms is just a nice to have?
