expdp not generating dump on server in oracle 10g release2

hi
im using expdp whenever i use tables it doesnt export it onl;y generates the log file on my server and dump is not created
if i export without table option it works and generates whole dump which i dont want

also i want to check my status of my export when i come on EXPORT> prompt

what are the various queries i can fire

and pls help me for the dump issue
