RMAN RESTORE: Need to restart RMAN restore/recovery process

My RMAN DBPITR restore is extremely slow, and I really need to speed up it up. This is a 2.5 TB database.All full backup pieces have been restored. Just one incremental backup piece out of 4 pieces required has been restored, and the second is busy being restored, and will take a further 10hrs to complete
I would like to break into the restore process, move the backup files to faster storage, and then resume the RMAN.
I know that if this is done with the full backup pieces, the restored datafiles are ignored. Does this apply to the incremental backups?
