Assigning NULL to a column through API

I need to wipe out all freight term values (column is FREIGHT_TERM on HZ_CUST_SITE_USES).  As is standard, the API (hz_cust_account_site_v2pub.update_cust_site_use) will not allow the assignment of NULL to a column.  Any ideas how to accomplish this?
