Hourglass Disappears a few Seconds after executing Long Running Queries in Open UI?

It has been observed that when a log running query is executed in Open UI clent, the Hourglass icon disappears after a few (20-25) seconds before the results are displayed and while the query is still running.  BUG:17425415 - "OPEN UI: HOURGLASS IN LONG RUNNING VIEWS/QUERIES ISSUE" has been logged for this behavior to be addressed in a future release.  Note 1585470.1  gives more details.
