Unable to update Bank Branch thru ce_bank_pub.update_bank_branch

Hi,

We are trying to update the BIC numbe for the existing Bank Branh thru ce_bank_pub.update_bank_branch api.But we are getting an error message.

Error Message: 'The branch number already exists for this bank'.

 Since  BIC and Branch numbers are 2 different fields in the bank branch screen, i would expect to update the BIC number. But the result if opposite.

Can you please advice.
