ASM mirroring between SAN and SSD

We are attempting to create an ASM diskgroup, with Normal Redundancy, with two failure groups. One failure group will be on SAN disk, the other will be on SSD. Obviously the performance characteristics of these two set of disk will be very different. The idea is to have SAN replication to our DR site, while doing Preferred Reads off the SSD failure group.

Has anyone attempted to do this sort of thing? What were your results?
