Archive log - ORA-00257

hi,   I delete archivelog from RMAN. But when I run "select * from V$ARCHIVED_LOG;" it shows a lot of archivelog. What did I miss when deleting.
The matter is that I can not use the database in archivelog mode, because when it starts appears an error and the database could not be open.
Then when trying to access it appears the message: ORA-00257 - archiever error. Connect internal only, until freed.

could somebody tell me what can I do to solve this problem?
