Reflect upgarde of a component under PTO Model in IB

Hi,
We are selling hardware components (like server , cards etc..)  using PTO model.
after server was first shipped to the customer the IB includes the PTO model as a top parent, below it is the server and also the cards.
the upgrade order is used for shipment of additional cards also using PTO model.
the requirement is to have the additional cards added to the PTO model instance originaly created when the server was first shipped.
the problem is that we have to expire the relationship between the new PTO model used for he upgrade order and the cards and then link thr cards instances to the existing PTO.
