Monitoring

Hello All,We have just completed instalation of Oracle EPM System11R1 on a virtual Linux server. I have EAS and studio and Essbase clients installed as well. I have no way of monitoring the database, essbase itself and also have no good stategy for backups. I need help in how to monitor essbase. I am currently going into EAS to sign in and once that takes I assume essbase is working. I need a better way to do mymorning check in if there is one.

I also need good information on backups. Should I back up the whole box or take tar balls of some important directories??
