Siebel Upgrade to 8.1.x - planning/impact analysis - changing OS

Hi,

We are currently on Siebel version 8.0.0.9 and planning on an upgrade to 8.1.1.10 version.

We are using SSSE/ Microsoft Exchange for Outlook synch but atleast once a week we have system crashes and PIMSI components just hang... We have to restart the Siebel Services to make them function.

1. Which is the best way for Outlook synch? Siebel CRM Desktop or SSSE?

2. Currently our Servers are on Microsoft Windows 2003(32-bit). Which is a better/stable Operating System for the Upgrade to 8.1.1.10 - Linux Operating System(WebLogic Application Server) or Windows 2003(32-bit) Operating system(IIS application server)?
