ESSSVR.EXE process memory question

Hello,

I have been noticing something strange in our development environment.  We have 16GB total memory on the essbase server.  At times, we get as low as 1gb of available memory, but when I calculate memory usage in task manager, we are only using around 5 or 6....nowhere near 16.  There is always an ESSSVR.EXE process that is taking up around 2GB.  When I end that process after verifying that nothing is running, about 8-10GB of memory becomes available, even though that process was only showing 2gb of memory usage.

I tried multiple searches, but haven't come up with an explanation.  If it helps, we have two calculation scripts that run every day in this environment.  I don't know if it has something to do with those calculations running on multiple threads.  I would think it would show up with the right value in task manager, but I am not sure.

Howdy, Stranger!
