Attention: To align with new corporate security policies, and to match policies adopted by other communities within Oracle, the My Oracle Support Community access requirements will change beginning September 18, 2025. Updating Assignment Number

Hi,

I have a business scenario where a person is changing their role and therefore undergoing a change in employee number.

The system allows me tp 'update' the employee number on the person screen. Mark that this change works if I click 'Update' rather than 'Correct.

This change however does not automatically update the assignment number, so I have to do that manually.

I go to the Assignment screen. Change the assignment number. When the system asks me whether I want to 'Update' or 'Correct', I click 'Update'.

The error message I receive is that :

'The update mode must be CORRECTION to change the assignment number'
