Backup & Recovery Optimization Operations
We need operational procedure considering the PRODUCTION environment to optimize the procedure and minimize the downtime. As of now we see there are TWO issues as listed below.
1. DB backup & rollback - Currently the entire db schema is exported as a backup each time. This creates issues regarding first the space available on the db servers to get backups as it is limited and we expect that the production db is going to be a lot bigger in size. Moreover we have time limitations as every deployment needs to happen on limited deployment windows and the export takes a lot of time. Moreover it makes rollback time consuming as well. Plus if a rollback is needed a full import will require first the dba to drop
