How to tell why Inventory Replenishment is not generating Replenishment Requests for certain Items

Hello all,

I have had this question asked of me a couple times over the last two months and thought it would be helpful to bring to the attention of the community.

There are many circumstances where Inventory's Item Replenishment will not generate an expected replenishment.  Unfortunately the calculations used by the program are not very transparent, so it can be a bit of a puzzle when your end users challenge you to explain why they did not get a replenishment.  The SQL statements documented in the following KM article are an excellent start:
