Options for receipt creation from bank statement interface

Has anyone used a receipt creation API as part of the bank statement load process?

We would like to start loading daily statements into Oracle and use this process to create unidentified receipts for some bank transaction codes. We would then call AutoReconciliation to reconcile these to the statement lines.

The process would be to import and load the statement lines, run the unidenfied receipt creation API, run AutoReconciliation.

Are there any other options? We do not want to use Lockbox. We are using the statement load to create some miscellaneous transactions but cannot figure out how to use this to create cash receipts.
