R12.1.3 : AP Extract-Check Printing (CAPCHKEX.rdf) extrating junk chars

Hi,
We recently upgraded the applications from 11i to R12.1.3.     Our  extract check printing output has special char like ^M or ^I.     This causes check printing to fail.

Can you please let us know, how to fix this.
