Is there a work around for this bug until a patch is released?

unpublished BUG 16619418 - FATAL ERROR IN BEE PROCESS AFTER APPLYING TYE PATCHES. BEE UNUSABLE

Is this the work around?  What does the API do to fix the issue?

Note! Before applying the patch, please workaround the issue by the following method temporarily.
Workaround:
Update assignment data by the APIs.
(HR_ASSIGNMENT_API.UPDATE_EMP_ASG, HR_ASSIGNMENT_API.UPDATE_EMP_ASG_CRITERIA).
