Filtering Import Data for EBS using event scripts

Hi All,
Is it possible to use an event script to filter out specific data you don't need for a location that is pulling EBS data.  If I were using an import format script, I'd use the skip functionality, but is it possible to use this in the BefImport Event script?  I'm trying to eliminate unneeded rows from going into the tDataSeg table knowing they will never be used in a specific location.  I'm using FDM EE with the 100 patch applied.
