Delete date Pattern

Hello,

We have a date pattern set up up to 2015.As per the business requirement we need to delete the future years date pattern for 2014 and 2015.

They want to keep open next two periods only.

If we do the same,Will it impact anything?

I have red this below in some of the documents

1.We must define  date patterns at least one year into the future for the expected life of longest lived asset

2.During year end while running depreciation some amounts will assign for the future periods.

Please confirm the same.Thanks
