Recovery without a prior full backup
I have a joined a new team a month ago. We had a meeting this morning on migration of the databases from one data center to another center. This is a RAC and ASM environment. This is an exhaustive project which has 100s of the databases. All agreements are executed between two parties and complete.
I do not think that there could any technical flaws anywhere. As per this morning discussions, SAN team is going to make backup copies of all the Oracle database files ( control. sp file, redo logs, data files, temp files,, undo files and archived log). As per the agreement, all the os level backups will be made when the databases are actively running. Management has clarified to me that databases can not be taken offline and database will not be in the backup mode for the purpose of backup.
