VM host - backup and restore to a new server

I am planning to replace an old oracle vm server with a newer server. 
What is the best way to remove old server from a vm cluster and add new one.  In the past, I simply install oracle vm software and added a server to a cluster.  I would like to retain the old host IP address and all of the configuration settings.


Is there a way to backup the oracle vm software and restore it to onto a new host.  Or not mess with it and just add a new host and then remove the old host.
