change data model of an existing report

Hi community,
does somebody know if it is possible to change the data model of an existing report?

Background is that I created a data model with several reports (templates) on it. Now when one of the report is executed all queries inside the data model respectively all layouts of the report will be executed. To avoid this I want to share the templates over several data models.
