WLS/OFM software on each node or on shared location

Hi,I am trying to see what other people are doing!
Our configuration consists of two nodes, therefor install WLS/OFM software on each node.  I read in oracle documentation that you can install the sofwared on a shared location, visable to the two nodes and run the two nodes of the same set of software. 

Currently we do this:
WLS/OFM sofware installed on local drives, visible only by the node on which the software is installed.
Admin Server configuration, shared location, visible to the two nodes. 
The managed servers installed/configured on local drives.

Any ideas,  thoughts on this?
