Resource locking error when testing a Component Interface (CI) based on CLASS_DATA_NEW

I am currently working on a project where I want to call a component interface for CLASS_DATA_NEW and CLASS_MEETING_PATTERN.

I am testing these in App Designer and my test is very simple, set class_section and Associated class and save, but I keep getting a Resource Locking error.

I am guessing that the locking is not happening because I am not seeing any items at all in the PS_RESOURCE_QUEUE table.

Is there a way to work around this? I hesitate to clone these two components because of the maintenance issue it would create. I am also extremely hesistant to create code to update classes or create new classes not using the delivered components through a component interface.
