Use of ADSISecAdpt on Non-Microsoft Operating Systems
We have seen several service requests lately where customers were trying to use Active Directory authentication with a non-Microsoft operating system and the standard ADSISecAdpt. While authenticating against an Active Directory on Linux, HP-UX, AIX, and Solaris is fully supported with Siebel 8.0 and later, you must use the LDAPSecAdpt, sscfldap .dll file, and Security Adapter Mode set to LDAP to do so.
The reason for this is that the ADSISecapt (sscfadsi.dll or sscfadsi.so) relies on Microsoft provided .dll files for shared functionality. These files are not present on non-Microsoft operating systems.
A request has been filed to make this requirement more explicit in the Siebel Security Guide.
