When User tries to register with MOS Error appears saying Support ID Not Valid, but it is a valid ID

 Hi
When my User tries to register with MOS Error appears saying Support ID Not Valid, but it is a valid ID. 

What could cause this?  Leading or trailing blanks in the ID?
