Accounting Item Attributes at Master Level

Good afternoon, Community!

We have COGS and Sales Accounts set as Master-Level item attributes. Expectation is, simply, that Inventory Orgs would inherrit these values from the Master Org and would change in lock-step with the Master. This does not seem to be the case, with changes to the Master Org not reflected on Child Orgs.

Can anyone explain if it is our expectations or our results that are off?
