Backing up of archivelogs on a Physical standby

Hi All,

Given the backup and dataguard set up described below, I would like to know whether anyone believes it would be a good idea to backup the archivelogs on the standby database.

Our current production backup and DR strategy is as follows on our 11.2.0.3 database.

RMAN database backup to disk with a recovery window of 2 days.

CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY TO RECOVERY WINDOW OF 2 DAYS;

Plus the following archivelog deletion policy.

CONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG DELETION POLICY TO SHIPPED TO ALL STANDBY BACKED UP 1 TIMES TO DISK;

All backups go to TAPE via netbackup.

A physical standby exists for this production database.

Howdy, Stranger!
