Contract Expert attempting to validate questions/answers on old approved orders?? Is there a way to

We just upgraded to R12 from 11.5.10 R2.  We have many contracts that were completed in 11.5.10 where we used Contract Expert to generate the contract.  We update clauses, create new clauses, create new questions, revise the templates, etc. over time.  In 11.5.10 there was no automatic re-validation of the contracts using contract expert.  In 12.1.3 there seems to be a validation process that runs to re-validate the contract expert portion of the contract with every update of the old order.  Is there a way to prevent this validation process?
