Siebel 7.7 SEA to 8.1.1.10 SIA upgrade path

Dear Community Members,

We are planning for upgrade of existing Siebel 7.7 SEA version to latest siebel GA release that is (8.1.1.10) and looking for the best upgrade path for the same. How many steps of upgrade would ideally be required in such project? We have gone through the bookshelves and some forums too, if anyone has any experience with such an upgrade project please share the possible approach. This would be of great help.
