Incident 318985: query on bank accounts - merging/demerging!!

Hi

Can somebody advise on whether it is possible to do the two following scenario's and instrcutions on how to:

1. Santander – taking over both Abbey National and Alliance and Leicester bank accounts – is there an easy way to merge all the branches from 2 Banks to an existing Bank

2. Lloyds – Lloyds TSB have now been split into two banks – half to Lloyds and half to TSB – is there is there an easy way to separate the branches into the 2 new banks.

Please advise whether there is any quick ways to do the above or does some poor person have to go into each branch individually?
