Semi Colon not accepted by SRP - ASAP

Hi ,

In our production environment we hit an issue where a semicolon sent to ASAP in one of the parameters caused SRP failure. Any thoughts , why is it handled this way ?

And why did it shut down SRP instead of throwing some validation error ? Has anyone else faced this before ?
