Extremely high load on M9000 runnig sol10

I have a M9000 with 9 child zones. Last friday I started getting customer emails that the system email had stopped sending. I looked on the child zone they were complaining about and the syslog said the mail had stopped due to load average being at 17655. I then ran top on the global and child zones and all were extremely high, with the global exceeding 200,000. I've never seen a load average exceed 10, so I am completely at a loss to explain this. Any help in locating the culprit, or pointing me in the most likely direction, would be greatly appreciated!

The CPU utilization at the time was around 97% idle!
