SL8500 Command Line Interface

I am preping to install a redundant electronics package on my SL8500, however I am having a problem.

I can not seem to communicate with my SL8500 via the CLI interface on the HBC Card (Library Controller).

I have used TIP via solaris, Putty via Windows and lastly a serial interface on my digital KVM (AVOCENT). Each instance has the same results - nothing - no prompt or any kind of indication there is information. No indication the port is active, not even garbage character streams (which would indicate a setting mismatch).

I have used a 9 pin console adapter, straight thru ethernet cables and IQ modules on my KVM, with no luck.
