Hi
We are currently building new RAC environment to move the existing RAC database from older OS to new OS
Current DB Version is 10.2.0.4. , we need to stick to 10g release due to application support compatibility, however we are planning for 10.2.0.5
I have already completed the CRS Installation and planning to proceed with ASM & DB installation.
Could you please suggest/recommend whether following step is fine or any other better way to handle this migration

1. Install ASM and DB and create database with same DB name (similar to old server DB name which is currently up & running)
2. Copy the DB RMAN backup from old server to new server
