HFM Consolidation Time Analysis

Hi,

I'm looking for some advice.  I've been asked to carry out some analysis on the length of time of our Consolidations, with the aim of potentially making them run quicker. (we're on HFM 11.1.2.1)

I've analysed the task audit, and I can see that some consolidations are taking a long time (over 9 hours in some cases).

I'm wondering, what factors can come into play to intermittently cause Consolidations to take so long?  I know when I last carried out this kind of activity (probably back in HFM 3.5.1 days) one of the factors was concurrent consolidations running that impact, and so lock up, the same sub cubes.  Is that still a major factor in consolidation times, or has the locking of sub cubes been improved in recent versions?
