Why ASCP collections collect CONFIG items

Our customer uses oracle B2B process for SO fullfillment and creates CONFIG item to capture the BOM of models.

According to me, Config items are just a dummy items and are not orderable. Hence they don't require any planning.

Neither i see any way of making them unplanned during creation nor while collecting during PDP or ODS load.

Consequently our collections run for very long since it also loads their unnecessary BOM limited to a particular SO.

Please let me know if there is any standard way of filtering such items through ASCP or during Config item creation.

FYI.. we use ASCP Centralized installation.
