Siebel New 8.1.1.11 Install Issue On System With No Previous Install

Hi,

 

Posting this again since my post from yesterday does not appear today.

 

We hit an issue on both Windows 2008R2 and RHEL 6.4 where 8.1.1.11 won’t install as a new installation on a computer where there is no existing Siebel install.  Instead of installing OUI complains that our install directory is invalid even though it is valid.  Any and all directory names we tried failed.

 

We tested on two other computers where there were other Siebel installs and the same media installed with no issues.  On Windows we debugged using Sysinternals Process Monitor and could see on the installs that worked OUI queried for information about the existing installs on those computers and then proceeded.  On the failed installs on the brand new computers this activity did not happen of course and the install fails with the message about the bad installation directory.  On the systems with existing Siebel installs the only way we could reproduce the same errors was to type an intentionally bad
